They are fed a diet of high quality natural feed, including our homegrown oats and are reared slowly in the traditional way to reach full maturity unlike commercially grown birds that are killed for weight rather than age and flavour. Slaughtering takes place on the farm premises, which involves the minimum stress. The birds are then hand plucked and hung for at least 10 days before evisceration which enables the maturation process of the meat to take place to guarantee succulent meat - the way you want it!
Our turkeys are beautifully presented in an attractive easy to carry box that includes cooking instructions and a cooking timer to make sure you enjoy your very special meal. Also included is a recipe leaflet for those happy ever after leftovers, which we think, taste even better the next day!
As members of the Traditional Farmfresh Turkey Association (TFTA website at www.golden-promise.co.uk) our farm is independently inspected each year verifying that Rumburgh Farm turkeys are raised to the highest welfare standards. We have a local and long-standing customer base of butchers and farm gate sales, which we feel is the best recommendation.
